I can't believe that my little sister is married! It's still really weird to say. But she seems way happy, as it should be.
Friday night we had Dani come up to our house and sleep over, so there would be one less person needing to use the shower at my parent's house. Then Saturday morning we got all ready and took the two minute drive to the temple. That was nice. The ceremony was great. They both looked so happy. I admit I got a little teary-eyed. I don't really know why. I still cry during sealings even though Brian was right there holding my hand.
After the ceremony we just waited outside the temple. I got to hold Caden, Lisa's baby, and he is getting so big. So cute!! I'm not quite ready for one of my own though.
They came out of the temple all smiles and it was great. After pictures, and more pictures, we left to go to the luncheon. It was really nice to chat with everyone. We sat by Clark and Holly and got to catch up with them.
After the luncheon I really wanted to take a nap because I was so tired, but we had to get ready for the reception. It was at a pavilion behind a church in our stake, and I'm sorry I didn't take more pictures of the actual place and decorations. But it was way cute. All pink and orange. Bright pink and orange. :)
Nat chose to have brownies and ice cream, (raspberry and orange sherbet) for her food, so Brian and Brad dished ice cream, though Brad quit half way in, and I was in charge of making sure we had enough brownies out. So I was running around like a crazy woman checking everything, and finally, Brian said I should just go mingle, and he could take care of the food. (It wasn't extremely crowded like ours, because of the timing. Memorial Day weekend, and the Jazz game was on at the same time.) He's so wonderful. I love him so much!
So I got to mingle and talk to people I hadn't see for a while. Everyone loved my hair cut, so that was fun. I saw friends of my parents I hadn't seen since I was little and eventually all of Nat's friends showed up at the same time to say hi. That was awesome to see them all because I'd gotten really close to them when I moved home for her senior year.
The reception was really nice and Brad and I enjoyed eating a lot of ice cream. It was a little warm, so we put ourselves in charge of eating the melting ones so they all looked nice on the table. :) And if you know me and Brad, you know we were up to the challenge.
It was a good night, all in all, except poor little Dani, she and I share the same curse from our father, of having almost no arch in our feet, so she could hardly walk. My feet were also killing me, from all the running around, but I've mastered the art of walking on the outside of my feet so it helped a little. Still, it was nice to go home and get off them. It was a great day. And now Nat and Adam are in Boston on their honeymoon, (I love Boston, I'm so jealous) and soon they'll be back and the open house in St. George is next week. Busy fun times for our family.
