Funeral & Girl Talk

So I forgot to mention yesterday that I got to go to lunch with one of my best friends from USU, Megs! She & her husband were up in SLC for the gymnastics meet. Her husband is the assistant sports information director for SUU, basically a paid sports fan. So they were up and we decided we needed to do a girl's lunch. It was so good to get together with her and just catch up. I love just having a good friend to talk to about anything and everything.

Today I got up early and went to a funeral for my grandma's sister. She passed away on Wednesday and my grandma asked me to play at the funeral. I played prelude and a solo piece & I think it went really well. My grandma appreciated it and I was happy to help her out. The family wasn't really active in the church so the funeral was different than any I've been to before but my grandma also spoke and shared a little about what we believe and I think she did it without being offensive or disrespectful to anyone. It went really well.

Afterwards my mom and I went out to lunch as well. I love how close I am to my mom. Especially now. It's been good to live close to our families and I'm even luckier because I work in a building right next to my mom's. So we get to go to lunch pretty often. I think it's made us even more friends than mother and daughter (though that's still there. :) ) We can just sit and talk like any other girlfriends. It's great. :)

So that was my day. Then I came home and apparently I'm still sick. Sniffly and sneezing, but actually feeling better, which is odd to me. Owell. None of that matters because my Brian comes home tonight! In less that two hours he'll be home! I know, I know. It's all I've talked about. But I love him. :)

I love Brian's hugs. He really has the best hugs. Even in high school, if any of our (girl) friends were having a bad day, they would get a hug from Brian because he has great hugs. And he cares, which is what makes them so good. I know the hugs he gives me are the most special, and they always make me feel good.
