I'll admit, like everyone else, that I am an Olympic junkie. I don't watch or care about these athletes for 4 years, but every 4 years like clockwork, I turn on the TV and I cheer and scream and applaud when the US is in the running for the medals. It gets really exciting watching these people who I don't even know and they sometimes scrape by, or fly by, everyone else to get that Gold. It makes me think that maybe those Greeks knew what they were doing starting these games. It really instills pride in your country and gives everyone a sense of patriotism.
So last night we were at Brian's parent's house and we had to have the Olympics on, even in the background, just in case something exciting happened. And it did, as it always does.
First the Women's Downhill Skiing:
Wasn't Lindsay
Vonn amazing!? So exciting. Although it was a little hard to watch all those other girls crash. Very painful looking.
And finally, at the end of the night, so late, because they knew everyone would stay up to watch it,
The Men's
Halfpipe:
Shawn White is indescribable!
His first run was awesome, even though he was "holding back". And then on his victory lap, when he knew he'd already won Gold, and he was just going out there to have fun, he got an even higher score!! You can tell that he really loves snowboarding, which plays a big factor in why he's so good at it, I'm sure.
GO USA!!!
