Today I got the chance to attend the temple with one of my best friends.
Heather was my first roommate at college at USU. She was not a member of my church, and had no interest in being one.
We soon became best friends. And we've stayed that way for the past 9 years.
Last year I was ecstatic when she decided to be baptized. It was a very happy day.
Today I had the privilege of being her escort as she went through the Bountiful Temple for the first time.
I'm so proud of her and the choices she's made.
I know it hasn't been easy for her.
Even though she had no family support, and went through a pretty awful marriage and annulment, she hasn't lost the new faith that she found so recently.
She's a pretty strong woman. And I can tell she's happy.
Even when she's stressed, she's happier than when I first met her.

Friends, Temple & Family
This past Sunday was a hard day for me. It was my due date.
But it ended up being a great day because it made me realize what great friends I have in this ward.
I bore my testimony in Relief Society and I bawled all the way through it. But afterward I got some great hugs.
That evening Marci invited us over for dinner, but she didn't have anything planned yet. I had already started preparing our dinner so I just offered to bring it over to their house. It turned out pretty well (I was trying a new recipe). And then we had yummy Pazookies for dessert. We had a great night talking and laughing and playing with Aria. She put Brian and I in time out, and then spent the whole night flirting with Brian. I'll have to keep my eye on her. :) I even got to hold baby Corbin for a little bit.
That night another friend Aubrey brought me homemade cinnamon rolls, and the next night another friend brought chocolate-marshmallow-nut-thingy's. (BTW, I don't know who brought those and I have their plate. If you want it back you have to let me know your identity.) Thank you to everyone for your love!

Last night was our Stake Temple Night because next weekend is Stake Conference. Brian and I were able to go and I'm so grateful we did. Temple attendance is something we struggle with because Brian never knows what nights he'll have to stay late so it makes it hard to plan. Anyway, there are always a million excuses aren't there? We're trying to do better.
We attended the Chapel Session with our Stake and one thing that stood out to me was about how the temple is all about sealing families together. Everything thing we do is to get the families to the point where they can be sealed. I spent the whole session so grateful for the sealing that took place between me and Brian and our future children. It made a big impact on me.
I had some personal insights during and after the temple session that have made a big difference in my life. I am still sad about losing my baby, but after the things I learned in the temple, I now have a peace that I didn't have before. I know what I need to do to go forward and I have more strength to do it.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House
On Saturday Brian and I went with my mom and brother and sister to the Temple Open House. It was so cool! We had gone to see the Draper one too, but it was cold and dark and you were directed through plastic tunnels the whole time. This time, even though it sprinkled on us a little, it was totally open and you just walked in the front doors and even got to take pictures in front when you were done.
The inside was beautiful. I loved it, especially the chandeliers. Just amazing.
Some of you may have heard of this but I totally hadn't until yesterday. Then when we looked at our pictures up close we noticed the black trumpet and arm of the Angel Moroni.

Then when we looked at our pictures up close we noticed the black trumpet and arm of the Angel Moroni.After the temple, we took a small detour to see where we used to live since it was somewhat nearby. I lived in this house from 2 1/2 to 9 years old. It looked a lot smaller than I remember but I had fun telling Brian all about my memories there.
As we were driving home my mom showed me where the house we almost bought was. It turned out that if we had gotten that house instead of the one my parent's live in now, then I would've gone to Taylorsville High and I would've met Brian there. As it is, they had to move from Taylorsville to Sandy so he could come meet me. So either way, we were destined to meet. :)
After the temple, because it was so gloomy, Brian got the day off. We went back to my parent's house and I sat down to sort through my mom's hundreds (thousands) of pictures that were not sorted or in any order and sitting on a shelf. I didn't think I would finish it all in one day, but I did. It took me about 8 hours, but I did it! And now they're all sorted into different children's piles and are just waiting to be put into their books. I'll be going back another night this week to finish that project too.

Draper Temple Open House
This last Friday Brian & I were able to go to the Draper Temple Open House with my sister Nat & her husband Adam, and our brother Phil.
Our tickets were for the 7:40 session and so driving up to the temple was pretty cool, because it was dark and the temple was so bright on the hill. Very pretty. It's a smaller temple and it was a silent tour so it was different than the other open house I've been to. We just walked through the temple and they gave you a pamphlet to read while you walked along. It was a very pretty and was so peaceful in there. I loved it. I really want to go back and do work there after it's dedicated.
The celestial room was so pretty and Brian and I just took a moment to stand in there and realize that we've been married for two years. It was just awesome to be there.
At the very end we got to sit in one of the sealing rooms and a couple talked to us about the importance of that room. We were one of the first people in the room so we were the last ones out. As we were waiting for the others to leave Brian leaned over to me and informed me that his ex-girlfriend from high school was sitting across from us with her husband and baby. I couldn't believe it! It was just crazy that something like that would happen. He dated her for 2 years and I was in love with him the whole time. So I didn't like her very much. But it was just interesting to see her. She avoided all eye contact with Brian and of course, me. (She didn't like me very much either. She didn't want Brian to hang out with me because she was afraid I was going to steal him away. Smart lady. :) lol)
It was good to go see the temple though and I would encourage everyone to go see it.
