Also, a few weeks ago, Brian sat down to watch "my shows" with me one night and when it was over he asked, "Why do you watch these?" It made me start thinking. I then had the thought, 'Would I still watch these if my kids were around?' Probably not. 'Why not?' Because they're not appropriate for kids. 'So why are they appropriate for me?' I couldn't answer that one. So I've limited myself to only 2 or 3 shows per week. That's not to say I don't occasionally turn on the TV and watch a movie on TV or a rerun, but I'm trying not to watch too much. This has actually turned out to be really great and has freed up a lot of time.
So what have I done with my time? Here are a few things:
Years ago my mom started putting together picture books for each of her kids. 5 of them. But by the time my youngest sibling came along the project kind of took a backseat to actually raising us. It didn't help that digital cameras came about and suddenly all the pictures were on the computer. But anyway, about 6 months ago I decided to help my mom at least organize and finish putting together all the pictures that were already printed. So I took almost a whole weekend and sorted and organized and labeled pictures. I had boxes and shoe boxes and lids all filled with pictures ready to be put into books. And then I was too tired to keep going. Hence why it's taken 6 months for me to finish.
Just a couple weekends ago I finished putting the pictures into my book, the final one. It took a lot of time, but I'm glad I was able to help out. Maybe one of these days I'll go back and help print out the digital pics and file those as well. I also need to go back and put vacation pics into separate books. The project never really ends.
Here are my "finished" books (minus digital prints):
This photo project suddenly made me realize that I should probably get started on Brian & I's pictures before the project overwhelms me. However, most of our pics together are digital. So that means I need to gather all the ones I can, sort through the ones I want to print, print them, and then label and put them in books. I've only just started, but I'm excited to get this done.
And, as always, I'm reading lots of books. This is the latest series I've been reading and I really like it.

k...so i'm curious as to what "your shows" are! lol i have just one that i have to watch each week...and it's definitely not appropriate for my kids...but i got hooked on it, when Micah was a baby, and i would watch it as i got him ready for bed! hehe
as for the digital pictures that you've got...have you ever thought about putting them in a digital scrapbook?
