One Positive Outcome

When I was little, I always wanted to have these flowers for my wedding:

But these are the wussiest flowers ever.
They only last from about the last week of April to MAYBE the second week of May.
And because my birthday is May 1st, I knew it would probably never happen.
Then I married someone with a May birthday as well and it just wasn't in the cards.
Besides the fact that planning a wedding around when certain flowers will be alive is crazy (in my book).
But this year, the lilacs have stuck around a lot longer.
It's probably due to the cooler weather, (but not too cool) and the sun only coming out for a few hours each day.
And all the rain has probably helped a ton.
My ride home from work is always enjoyable because there is about a half mile long stretch of lilac bushes and just seeing them and smelling that sweet fragrance makes me so happy.
I probably annoy Brian with my game of "Spot the Lilac Bush" that I play every time we're in the car.
I'm just like a little kid because it's the last week of May and my flowers are still around.
It's the only positive outcome I can think of for having all this rain and cold weather.
And then it snowed today, May 24, 2010.
It literally made me angry the second I woke up and saw that white stuff on the ground and continuing to fall from the sky.
My drive to work was terrifying.
All I can say is that the lilacs better still be there when I drive home or Mother Nature's going to get a talking to from me.
