I made the comment to our receptionist today that watching the stock market all day on the TV by her desk must be riveting.
I was joking.
I don't think she knew what "riveting" meant.
Perhaps she thought I was talking about building something.
I have to take a moment to brag about My Man.
He informed me that 2 separate people he knows that work (partially part-time (meaning whenever the firm has something for them to do) at a firm here in SLC, both recommended him for a job!
The company is starting a new project using some new software that neither of these guys knows how to use, but they both thought of Brian because he's worked hard to learn it this year.
So tonight we're putting together a new resume and hopefully he'll get the job!
I know it might just be for the summer and come Fall he might have to really cut back on hours, but I still think it would be great to have one foot in the door come next summer when he's graduated.
I know everyone's said it, but I'll say it again, It needs to be Spring already.
Brian went for a bike ride out to Draper the other day.
Yeah, that's 50 miles round trip.
He was pretty exhausted but the really bad part was that he forgot to put sunscreen on.
His hands and legs are pretty burnt.
I shouldn't laugh, but the bike shorts are a little shorter than even swim trunks, so the stark difference between his white thighs and the burn is pretty intense.
Yesterday he worked from home on finishing up school stuff and he just sat around in his underwear (and a regular shirt) with it hiked up so it wouldn't rub the burn.
I would've taken a picture, but that's not appropriate. (I really wanted to document it though.)
Brian's team didn't get chosen to ride in LOTOJA this year.
He's pretty bummed. Me too.
It would've been fun to cheer him on.
Maybe next year though.
I think we'll still go spend a weekend in Logan though.
I miss it up there.
This weekend one of my best friends is getting baptized!!
I didn't think it would ever happen, but it is, and I am so happy for her.
I got an electric skillet for my birthday.
I did not have a huge grin on my face when I made tacos in it last night. That would be geeky.
Owell, you all know I'm a geek.
There's a lady in my office that has a young toddler at home.
She is currently talking baby-talk to her over the phone.
She's in a cubicle, not a closed office.
Yeah, I'm just not that type of person.
That probably makes me a bad person for thinking she's weird to do that.
Sorry, lady in the next cubicle.
I recently started working a tree skirt for our Christmas tree.
I'm very excited, but it's huge.
Makes it hard to work with and takes up the whole couch.
Owell, it'll be worth it in the end.
Well, time to go home now.
The end.

Adam didn't get chosen either! his brother is pretty upset but i'm not too bummed about it!!
Awesome - I hope Brian gets the job! Too bad he wasn't chosen for the biking; btw, how long did it take him to do the Draper ride? Bummer about his sunburn. Awesome about your friend's baptism. FYI, I can't stand people who baby-talk kids, either...
